Doubo: A Player That Ships No Channels
Why our IPTV app is only a player, and how it checks a whole playlist at once, switches lines in one tap and keeps everything on your device.
A player, not a service
Doubo (都播) does not sell or bundle any channels. You bring M3U or M3U8 playlists you are entitled to use, and Doubo makes them pleasant to watch. That one decision shapes the rest of the product: there is no channel catalog to license, and no reason to collect your data.
From import to watching
- Import any playlist. Paste a URL or open a local .m3u / .m3u8 file. Channel names, groups and logos are parsed automatically, and your last 20 playlists are restored at launch.
- Check every channel at once. Doubo tests the whole playlist in parallel and lines up the channels that are ready to play.
- Switch lines in one tap. When a channel has several sources, pick the smoothest one under Lines.
- Browse, search, favorite. Browse by group-title, search channel names and groups instantly, and jump back to recently played.
Native playback
Doubo is built natively on AVKit, so it stays light and easy on the battery. You get Picture in Picture, subtitle tracks, playback speed and full-screen landscape, plus a live preview of the playing channel right in the list. DLNA casting sends playback to a smart TV on the same network, and Doubo opens local video files too.
One caveat: automatic TV discovery on iPhone and iPad needs Apple's multicast networking entitlement, which we are still waiting on. The Mac app is not affected.
Private by design
Playlists, favorites and history are stored only on your device. The app contains no ad or analytics SDKs and collects no personal data.

The App Store release is coming soon. After that, the roadmap focuses on steadier playback first (broader HTTP live-stream compatibility, better background playback, multi-line aggregation with automatic switching, offline playlist caching), then XMLTV program guides (EPG), catch-up and iCloud sync.
